If you’re thinking of an event to attend this Halloween, then you should look no further than the Kiss Haunted House Party. This year it is again being held at the SSE Arena, Wembley on Friday 26th October.
I attended this last year it was well worth the price I paid to see a star-studded line up, including the likes of Dua Lipa, Jonas Blue and Martin Garrix. I paid just over £40 last year through Ticketmaster to hear smash hits from the past year live, from the most popular artists; therefore, it is definitely worth it!
Last year, the Kiss House Party 2017 was held on 26 October 2017. It boasted a star-studded line-up, including Dua Lipa who was recently won 4 Brit Awards in the 2018 instalment including: British Female Solo Artist, British Single (New Rules), British Video (New Rules) and British Album (Dua Lipa). She is also now the most listened to Spotify female artist, being 4th overall after J Balvin, Drake and Calvin Harris. Her stand out performance was her duo with Martin Garrix to promote “Scared to be Lonely”, with most acts dressing for the occasion with their various Halloween costumes.
Prior to this events, the only acts I was very familiar with were Clean Bandit, Jonus Blue, Martin Garrix and Rudimental; who all didn’t disappoint on the night, showcasing their biggest hits over their music careers, with hopefully many more smash hits to come! The surprise acts for me were Anne-Marie and Charlie Puth.
Anne-Marie performed her currently most successful hit single “Rockabye”, which skyrocketed her to the main spotlight, later producing other successful singles such as “2002” and her collaboration with Marshmello “Friends”; although none matching the success of the 2016 Christmas number one.
Charlie Puth perhaps had the strongest performance of the night, with acoustic songs “How Long” and “Attention”. At the time “Attention” was a newly released single and has gone on to be one of his most popular songs after “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, and I can see why, with the whole crowd vibing along. Mid-way through his performance of “Attention”, piles of confetti were released, inducing a carnival atmosphere within the arena and bringing the crowd volume to near the near the levels when Martin Garrix was performing. It was truly a surreal experience!
Overall The Kiss House Party ranks as my current favourite music event that I have attended, with a plethora of different artists with different genres, enticing wide varieties of music lovers to the scene to give the concert more of a festival feel. I would recommend this event to anyone who enjoys live music as there will more than likely be an act you already know, or an act that you will love once you have heard them perform!
